Description
Training Overview:
This training is for masters and doctoral level mental health clinicians working across a variety of settings. We will review the risk and protective factors for suicide, how to recognize a client in crisis, and how to manage ethical and legal responsibilities. Participants will also get to breakout into small groups to process a variety of crisis scenarios and explore on how to manage them.
Objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify risk factors to suicide
- Participants will be able to identify protective factors to suicide
- Participants will be able to identify signs that a client is in crisis
- Participants will be able to identify steps to take when a client is suicidal and/or in crisis
- Participants will be able to assess ethical and legal risk as it relates to suicide prevention
