Training Overview:
This training is to help mental health therapists navigate the complexities of a presidential election year. We will explore countertransference, self-of-the-therapist, and ethics. We will also review how to manage political topics in session and break into small groups to role play a variety of scenarios.
**Please note that the zoom link and handouts will be mailed to you two days before the training**
Objectives:
- Participants will be able to define countertransference and self-of-the-therapist
- Participants will be able to identify steps to manage
countertransference - Participants will be able to assess countertransference and manage possible ethical risks
- Participants will gain an understanding of the intersectionality of diversity and politics
- Participants will learn how self-of-the-therapist influences clinical work and how to take a systemic lens to political discourse with clients

Failure to complete the evaluation to get your CEU certificate within a week of the training may result in you not being able to get your CEU certificate.
